Are you installing your SmartDoor™ Connected Pet Door in a thick door or wall? These SmartDoor Tunnel Extensions will give your pet a safe and clear path through. Each extension adds 2 inches to the overall depth of the tunnel between the SmartDoor and your pet's destination. Tunnel installation is quick and easy, requiring no tools. Simply glue or tape the extensions in place. Be sure to add enough extensions so that the final piece sticks out of the door or wall by at least 1 1/4 inches. The extension tunnel is needed for installation in metal doors thicker than 1 3/4 in, non-metal doors thicker than 2 1/4 in and wall installations. Tunnel extensions come in 2 sizes, Medium and Large — be sure to purchase the size that matches your SmartDoor. This product is only compatible with the app-enabled SmartDoor Connected Pet Door. No space it simply does not come with it.

First off this fixed the issue that the door stopped working when I moved it from a wood door to a medal one. The it now opens from the outside. But... A big but. It has No fome spacer. Just as the other review stated. The good news for me was I had already install the dog door without the space in the door. And now I cut out access, space for the new adapter to go. So I used the foam I had cut out of my door and used that at the bottom. It was the exact size I had needed. But this solution may not work for you all. So heads up. It does not come with a spacer as the manual states it should.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Terrible. Undeniably terrible!!

I bought this adapter for my very expensive PetSafe Smart door, and it arrived without the foam spacer. I have called four times now, and here are the results: 1. Apologetic. Sent me another full adapter kit. IT ALSO HAD NO FOAM SPACER. 2. Wanted to help. Sent me a foam spacer. IT WAS THE WRONG FOAM SPACER. IT WAS THE SAME SIZE AS THE SPACER THAT CAME WITH THE DOG DOOR, WHICH THE ADAPTER KIT INSTRUCTIONS EXPRESSLY SAY I SHOULD NOT USE. 3. Determined to help. SENT TWO OF THE EXACT SAME FOAM SPACERS AS CAME WITH THE DOOR. AGAIN NOT CORRECT. 4. Escalated my issue. I was sent another full adapter kit. IT HAS NO FOAM SPACER. This is clearly a pervasive issue with this product. This product apparently cannot obtained with the necessary parts. I am now done.

No, I do not recommend this product.

No hardware

Why would you sell this extension with no hardware. You can not just go to a hardware store and buy a #8 screw that is 6in long for this to work in a wall. Now I have a big hole in my wall and can’t cover it until I can find these screws online. On top of that the extension is not snug on the outside mount so you have to seal that once you find the screws

Thank you for reaching out to us with this concern! Please know that when installing into a wall we recommend pairing the tunnel extension with the SmartDoor™ Connected Installation Adapter. The Installation Adapter will come with instructions on how to install your SmartDoor™ in a wall with the tunnel extensions. Typically, the only additional hardware necessary would be the appropriate hardware for your wall construction. For example, wood screws if attaching to wall studs or toggle bolts if attaching to drywall. So that we can best assist you with your installation, please get in touch with us.
