You'll also get 1 Deluxe UltraLight In-Ground Fence Receiver Collar which has a tone-only mode and 4 levels of safe, static correction that you can adjust based on how your dog responds during training. - A: Thank you for this question, Lisa! Though this collar could be used for for cats 8 lbs. and over, we would recommend changing the strap to a cat safe stretchy/breakaway strap. If you are wanting an in-ground system specifically for a cat, we would recommend considering our in-ground cat fence, as it comes with a collar designed for cats and a smaller receiver. - A: Thank you for asking about this! If training a second dog on the system, you would need a second compatible collar. Training teaches your dog how to respond at the boundary, but it is not recommended to remove the collar after training. The warning tone on the collar is what lets your dog know the boundary is being approached; it redirects their attention and reminds them of their training. This training is enforced by consistency as well; removing the collar will have detrimental effects on your dog's training and could lead to them disregarding the boundary entirely even with the collar on, which can make starting over with training more challenging. Saved our dog from getting re-homed

Our dog kept Jumping our 5’ privacy fence and charging people on the other side. We were getting a reputation. After unsuccessful attempts using a kennel, a wireless fence, and DIY coyote rollers we installed the wire on the top and bottom rails of the fence. Burying wasn’t an option as concrete sidewalks and a brick courtyard prevented a return to the starting point. After training she ended up trying to jump and got the ‘reinforcement’ the system offers. She was fearful of the yard for a few days but was but slowly calmed down. After having another dog visit for a day, she figured out the tone playing chase and no longer jumps the fence or charges pedestrians on the other side. We are now able to leave her in the yard while we are gone, even if she sees us walking away from the house.

Didn’t work for us

Maybe it just didn’t work for our dog, but whenever she passed the designated area, she wasn’t being shocked. The collar works, my husband found that out when he was fiddling with the settings lol. We tried all levels of being shocked & both sets of shock sizes, but neither one seemed to phase my dog - she would just twitch when she got shocked & keep on running. She is a husky, so she has a lot of fur, but we made sure to put it right on the skin & still nothing. Unfortunately we are unable to get our money back b/c we didn’t keep a receipt or anything. Hopefully it’ll work for others that decide to purchase it.

great product when you buy new and dont get a used

This was used once I got it home wire had been rolled out and had dirt on it. the collar had dog hair on it, make sure it hasn't been opened and taped back closed and sold to you as new.... i returned it for a full refund

Works when it wants to

Works when it wants to. My dogs have gotten out dozens of times. Pull on the wire and it will work for a few hours. No breaks in the wire.
Be safe and install a real fence.

This is the 3rd time I've bought the system, the last 2 times, have been in the last 3 years. I like the system, works well for my 2 dogs, but the transmitters don't seem to hold up the way my first one did. This will be my last purchase of this system.
No, I do not recommend this product.
