Here is the good and bad about this compressor. The compressor has an American flag on the tank but I don't think anything is built in America. The sticker on the motor says "Build for Mega Compressor" Classic Chinese English. The manual is the same way with grammar from a non-English speaker. Once you get past that things aren't so bad. The compressor for what you get compared to price of others, I believe is a good deal. The tanks wall thickness is 0.149 of an inch, according to the tanks ID plate. I checked start up amps (inrush) was at ~ 96 amps and run amperage was 15-16 amps at full load. Starting amps is high but I believe everything is tight and needs to break in. The motor uses a centrifugal switch to drop out the start windings (old school). I had zero leaks, just worked as it should and as I hoped. The compressor is quiet, not a issue to have inside the shop. The 2 air cleaner elements are tiny for the CFM out put of the compressor. The good thing is you can buy them online under "Air Compressor Intake Paper Filter Elements, 4 PCS Replacement Compressor Air Filter Element (Type 1)". Ran the compressor for maybe 30-40 minutes and the oil is already dark. Hopefully that is not an indicator for something wearing out. Will change oil in a couple hours just to be safe. The tank drain valve is at the very bottom of the tank and you have to lay on the floor to access it. I installed a drain kit with a valve to move it from under the compressor. This compressor is $500-$700 cheaper than its next competitor of comparable specs. Knowing that you have to assume that they cut cost somewhere. Currently all I can say it seems that its a bargain and should last, but only time will tell.

Works but the switch is only rated for 2/3 hp so either it’s a fire hazard or the motor is grossly overrated. Haven’t been able to get tractor supply or manufacturer to return message to address it…
