Lakin Lite is our maintenance style horse feed designed for less active horses, ponies, and mules. The pellets contain a high-quality blend of alfalfa, bermuda, and mineral. Lakin Lite Alfalfa Bermuda Horse Pellets are formulated to be fed to horses of all ages. Feed at a rate of 1.5% to 2% of body weight per horse, per day depending on body condition and work intensity. For example: a 1000 Lb. horse = 20 Lbs. of Lakin Lite per day. Multiple feedings throughout the day are recommended, divided into two equal portions. We recommend soaking the pellets in a container of water for horses with sensitive teeth or difficulty chewing. All horses should always have free choice water.
Gradually replace existing hay with Lakin product over a 7 day period.
