- A: It would depend on how many horsepower your old engine was. If it was 5.5 horsepower or less it could. The most important thing to check is the crankshaft length and diameter of your old engine. The new engine has a 2.42” length and 3/4” diameter. If that is the same, and the horsepower requirements are similar, it should work.a year agoHelpful?
