- A: Bonnie - We don't use red for our heads. If you're asking about a different manufacturer, we would not know what manufacturer your rod is from or if our Head Assembly would fit. These hydrant heads are the best alternative to digging up the entire hydrant if they accidentally freeze and break. They actually have the correct size connector rod with correct threads.
