Interceptor Plus Chewable Tablets for Dogs is indicated for the prevention of heartworm disease and for the treatment and control of adult roundworm, adult hookworm, adult whipworm, and adult tapeworm infections in dogs and puppies two pounds of body weight or greater and six weeks of age and older. This heartworm medication is an easy-to-administer, once-monthly treatment that comes in the form of chewy morsels. Boxes are color-coded base on dogs' weight.How it Works

Interceptor Plus treats and controls whipworm (Trichuris vulpis), roundworms (Toxascaris leonina, Toxocara canis) adult stage hookworm (Ancylostoma caninum), and the tissue stage of heartworm larvae and infestations when given in the correct weight range dose and when given orally.

Interference with invertebrate neurotransmission is thought to be the cause of the anthelmintic activity of milbemycin oxime.

Special Precautions

Keep away from children. This medication has not been tested or evaluated in the use of breeding or lactating females.

Side Effects

Possible side effects of Interceptor Plus include:

Vomiting
Diarrhea
Depression and lethargy
Ataxia
Weight loss
Convulsions
Excessive salivation

Contact your veterinarian if your dog experiences any of these symptoms.

Store at room temperature between 59° and 77°F (15-25°C).

pet medication order with mail in prescription

If I could give this transaction zero stars I definitely would. I placed an order for intercepter plus for my dog with a mail in prescription. I received an email with instructions on what to include when I sent in the prescription. The next day I see that Tractor Supply has contacted my vet for approval. Well that is NOT what I chose in the order. My vet is no longer doing online approvals for meds. They are providing a written prescription. Since Tractor Supply did exactly what I DIDN.T ask for my vet denied the request. So what does Tractor Supply do? They cancel my order for something that I said I was going to mail in a prescription for. I don't know what happened to the prescription that I mailed in. It wasn't on file. I guess it just gets thrown in the garbage if the order is cancelled. That must be what happened to mine because it wasn't on file. I called today and spoke to a woman who was very polite and as helpful as she could be considering what she had to work with. I was told I would have to bother my vet and get another written prescription to mail in if I wanted the medication. After the previous disaster why in the world would I bother my vet for that. I have 0% confidence that a repeat order would be successful since this attempt was thwarted at every step in the process. I spend a lot of money at Tractor Supply and this may have just convinced me to go elsewhere. I will definitely not be using the online pharmacy again given my vet's new policy and Tractor Supply's inability to manage a mail in prescription. Please try to do better.

I shopped around for the best price on a monthly prescription for my dogs. The best deal to be found was at Tractor Supply. I canceled my auto ship from another vendor and ordered from Tractor Supply. Same product, better price. Got approval for prescription from my vet and received my order in a very timely fashion. I am very pleased.
