Rated 5 out of 5 by from This stuff really works We thought was a case of laminitis and tried this as a last resort. After 2 applications, the nasty abscess in our horse's hoof came poking through, what a relief. Would recommend this product, check tsc stores by calling, they have problems with their online inventory. Says that's in stock and it isnt.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Product My dog has Cushings Disease, which makes him prone to skin infections and recently he developed a nasty infection on his paw. One round of antibiotics worked at first, however, the sore returned. Halfway through the second round of medication, the sore returned bigger than ever. Squishy to the touch and very painful for him, I was running out of options. A friend suggested this product and it is amazing. Within two hours, the swelling had completely subsided. I wrapped the area with gauze and then covered that with a baby sock, overnight the wound was drained and I was able to clean it thoroughly with betadine. I'm hoping this product continues to work on my little guy, but I would recommend this to anyone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This stuff Works I have not yet found a wound that this will not heal. It is especially good at pulling infection out of abcesses that have been opened and drained but have not yet healed. The only kind of wound it should not be used on are wounds caused by anaerobic bacteria. Just clean the wound daily with saline solution or wound cleanser and apply a fair layer over the wound, then cover with gauze pads and secure with a wrap. Once daily treatment is usually all it takes unless it is pulling out a lot of drainage; then increase to twice daily. It has worked when other things don't. I have used this stuff on cats, dogs, poultry, and people (yes, people...), and it worked wonderfully in every application. I love this stuff!

I have purchased this but I do not see Ichthammol on the list of active or inactive ingredients? Is there more than one type of drawing salve?

Asked by: GinB
The label may say "20% Ammonium Bituminosulfonate" as the active ingredient. "Ammonium bituminosulfonate" is the same thing as Ichthammol.
