2 years ago- A: Hi Tamm, The Ice Eliminator is designed to be submerged in water at all times. If you believe the bird bath will run dry on a regular basis, then please unplug it. If it is only going to happen a couple times a year, that shouldn't be an issue as long as it doesn't run for days outside of water.2 years agoHelpful?
