I bought the HH140 2.5yrs ago from tractor supply, and I’m finally doing a review. I noticed they had a new Hobart ez140 welder that’s awesome. I made a few trailer frames and put truck beds on them, I wanted to stay under the 750lb weight limit so you don’t have to register them. Welded steps on enclosed trailers, made cool folding couc/beds for enclosed trailers, fixed cracked sockets, and made some tools..etc. first I used .035 wire and it was for awhile, then I switched to .030 and that seems to arc better. I’ve always used gas 75-25% mix. Oh and I replaced the ground wire with 0-4awg wire, with a nice 400a brass clamp, btw the stock wire was 6awg. I bought the Hobart because it has a dead reliable transformer, no inverter for me, heavy yes but it stays at home. It should give me years of service, and hopefully my kids too. Still have my dads Hobart arc welder he gave me 15yrs ago, still works great.

Worse purchase I have made I bought it on 7/23/25 and have not been able to weld anything as of yet it just does not work right.Un

Outstanding welder. You won’t go wrong in buying one. You can run solid wire or flux core. All you need is a 120 outlet/ 20amp circuit with a high quality heavy gauge extension cord I’ve welded 75ft from the outlet.
