Rated 1 out of 5 by from JUNK Bought this 6 weeks ago on sale at my local TSC. The weather finally warmed up enough to put down fertilizer this past weekend. OMG what a lousy design. Fertilizer leaking out the bottom because the flow door won't close completely. The flow regulator is of poor design. Fertilizer sprayed at best 2 feet to either side. Unable to return after 30 days. Sitting it out to the road for trash day!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from There must be 2 versions of these I bought mine in March of 2018. Mine has the steel rod connector to the controls rather than a cable. When I assembled I realized every nut is a stainless nylon-insert lock nut. I also removed the drive covers and saw it was metal gears with grease applied. Also this has steel wheel rims. Also mine has a mesh steel grate that goes in the bottom that I'm betting helps manage load pressure at the output shute. You don't see a lot of spreaders in this price point with these kind of features. I put everything back together and spread 160 pounds of pellet lime on my yard in about 15 mins (80 pounds per load). You just need to buy this thing.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Looks better than it is I bought this spreader recently to use for spreading ice melt on sidewalks because of the pneumatic tires, capacity, and cover. The tires were great even on ice. The capacity is nice, but unfortunately the hopper design along with the agitator does not make the entire contents empty. If you fill it most of the way, like 100 pounds, you are left with about 40 pounds that does not fall to the bottom where the agitator is to force it out the hole. The cover also broke the very first day of use within 3 hours. I am debating returning this spreader.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from MOAS (Mother of all SPREADERS) strong well built handle , tall enough for 6' tall or taller persons. do not have to bend over to push. If pre assembled be sure to adjust the door gage. set it to close completely. and open all the way when set to 10. check all fasteners to be sure they are tight . No cables or Plastic doors to break !

How to I replace the small plastic lever that controls how much material is spread.  I've used the spreader 3 times and the plastic lever broke!

Asked by: Bushby
Replacement parts can be ordered from Tractor Supply Co parts (888) 376-9601. This spreader has been updated from earlier models with plastic parts. It now includes metal components for improved durability.

Is there away to know what settings to use for specific fertilizers? I use Site One fertilizers and their website doesn't list this spreader?

Asked by: Jdel
Because products differ in application rates it is best to calibrate the spreader setting as follows: 1. Verify the amount of fertilizer that should be used for your lawn included on the bag label. 2. Weigh out the correct amount and add to the spreader hopper. 3. Select a low setting on the controller and spread on a premarked area of 1,000 sq. ft. 4. Weigh the remaining contents of the hopper to determine how much was used on 1,000 sq. ft. 5. Adjust the setting up or down as required to increase or decrease coverage. The proper setting is achieved when the hopper runs out at the end of the area to be covered.
