Purchased 4/4/26 - After using this for a couple of hours (should not have taken me a couple of hours...took this long due to all of the manual intervention) I will be returning this unit this evening 4/6/26. Would have returned it same day but I did wash it out and clean it up and let it dry and yesterday was Easter Sunday. Husband thought about eating the purchase price and keeping this newer model and using the axle rod from it to fix the old one but it is a different size and thickness and not possible. 4/4/26 PURCHASE: The current 2026 version of this 200 lb tow behind spreader is VERY CHEAPLY made. - The axle rod is even thinner/skinnier than on the older model that broke. - The handle and rod to open/close the hopper door is flimsy and doesn't connect tightly meaning you have to manually reach under and force the door to slide all the way open or closed since there is so much play in the connection. - The slider to direct flow that is on our older model is gone in this newer version. I spent the majority of my time finishing putting out the lime/fertilizer/grass seed jiggling the handle to open/close the door or getting off the lawn tractor to physically/manually clear product from the opening or readjust the flow control to a higher value but with the play in the rod still had to manually force the door open all the way. The agitator pin didn't seem to provide any help. Grass seed was the worst backing up above the door and me having to get off and stick my finger in the opening to start flow again. In the end, I just set the flow control to the highest '10' and manually forced the door open or closed with my hand to control the flow. Lost a lot of product this way and very uneven application. My husband is a gem and is going to purchase an axle rod and alter it to fit the spreader that broke. HISTORY ON SAME MODEL PURCHASED PRIOR TO 4/4/26 PURCHASE: I bought one of these a few years ago and have been using it. It wasn't perfect but is sturdier and had fewer issues than this later model I purchased 4/4/26. This older one had a little lever that you can swivel to direct the outcoming flow but that also helped remove any particles trapped in the sliding door helping it to open and close smoothly. I really loved this feature. The lever and rod to open/close the hopper door was also fairly sturdy and very little play in it so when you pulled or pushed, the door immediately closed or opened to full position. In the middle of use this year, the axle broke and one of the wheels fell off with about 120 lbs of lime in the hopper. The only large capacity tow behind spreader I could find and purchase locally same day was again a GroundWork 200 lb tow behind spreader.

Fell apart 1st use. Gears dont line up. Junk. Buyer beware.

This is the second one I have had the first one broke within hours. The second one broke before I started spreading the wheel bearing fell out and the tire fell off. I replaced the bearing with a bushing I had now it works great.

GARBAGE!!!! Do not shop tractor supply!!!! The small gate that opens and let the seed fall onto the broadcaster quit working. The guard that covered the axle fell off. And the wheel literally fell off. I tried to take this back 40 days after purchase and they would not give me my money because it had been over 30 days.
