Excellently smooth

Practiced on a weathered piece of 2x4 for a small project. I wear hearing protection for major abrasive work, and with that the planer is amazingly 'quiet'. The operation is intuitive and the surface quality of the end product is amazing. May want to extend the outfeed table a bit, but with some care one can prevent snipe by adding ever so little upwards support with your hand on the rollout.

Performs well in testing

Only gave it a 4 rating because I have not used it much, only for test runs so far. That said, it moves smoothly, the depth adjustment was dead on, not very noisy and the surface it left on pine 2x4 needed no sanding. Hooked up the dust collection to my shop vac and it worked very well. I had not bolted it to the cart I built for it but it gave no perceptible vibration.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Love everything about it quiet,finish no snipe,don’t like how hard it is to lock,unlock head hurts hand handle too small have to use channel locks, why is depth adjustment opposite of all other machine adjustment, right should tighten left should loosen love the machine over all but afraid that lock handle will break

Great little planer

Great little planer. With the helical head it gives great surface to the wood. Helical head is also cuts much quieter that the traditional three blade heads.
