Overall I love this planer. The biggest issue issue was in the delivery. If I didn't have an extra pallet jack the guy wouldn't have been able to get it off the truck. The pallet was shorter than an normal pallet, and took so levers and jacks and blocks to get the jack under it. After getting it off the truck I needed to get it off the pallet. No lifting instructions in the book. No lifting points. Called and asked support, they said to sling it under the main head. While doing so it is very heavy on one side and was difficult to maneuver without it sliding. I used an engine lift to pick it up, but needed to reduce the pallet size, so the legs could get around. I should have used a gantry crane, as it was barely liftable with the engine lift. But you do with what you have. All in all successful getting it placed. Now cleaning it up was a bit of a pain. I always take all of the cutters off to clean the shipping. grease off the head Had three screws in the head strip, they were over torqued and took me drilling and cutting the screws out, lucky they send some extras. Aftersetting the rollers up and running the first couple hundred board feet though it, I can say it planes like a dream. Even cranking the speed up, it was a beautiful finish. I would still recommend this despite the hiccups getting started.

This piece of machinery is good as it is talked up to be. Lot's of power and very robust. Weighs just over a 1,000 lbs. The only major issue was that it does not come with lifting lugs or any place to safely place forks. I had to call Grizzly and talk with a tech on how to safely remove the planer from the pallet. Luckily, I have a neighbor with a small tractor with a forklift rating of 1,500 lbs. We raised the roller bed the whole way up and carefully placed lifting slings under the bed and hooked to the tractor forks. I would not drive around with it like that for fear of bending something. I highly recommend the Grizzly engineers make this more easy to pick and move safely.
