We used these with 17 gauge wire instead of polytape and they worked fine. I have a 24’ x 48’ high tunnel house in which I grow vegetables each year. In previous years I’ve had a problem with deer coming inside the house and eating my vegetables. This year we installed an electric fence on the inside perimeter of the posts to hopefully keep the deer out. We attached these holders to a block of treated wood and then attached them to the metal posts with sheet metal screws. It would be nice if they were stocked in the store although they did arrive quickly for me to pick up at my local TSC.
