Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not enough leverage I bought this to crimp fence splice sleeves. I found it to be VERY hard to crimp to the point I thought I’d hurt myself. If you added length to the handles it’d probably be ok. But why buy something to fix... I took mine back

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great with modification I have used this crimping tool for a number of years. The only problem was the handles were too short to get good leverage. I removed the grips and took two pieces of pipe 12" long that fit tightly over the handles. It added about 6 inches to the handle. It made crimping easy yet still having good control of the tool.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to use Labor Day weekend 2016. My wife and I used this tool to splice 100 foot rolls of 48" no climb horse wire for a total length of 605 foot run. The tool works great. Be aware that the actual number of sleeves required may be more than one. We initially used one sleeve per horizontal wire (14 total) and when I strertched the first 300 feet the crimps let loose. Contrary to store employee instructions we read the sleeve instruction on the package and identified that a inline pull like ours require minimum of 2 selves per horizontal wire with three meeting full recommendations. Just be prepared to buy enough for your job. The tool works on all stocked sleeve sizes (12.5 gauge, 10 gauge). Much quicker and easier than old fashion wire to wire splice. We did both and favored the tool and sleeves

Do you have any idea what size crimp sleeves are used on 12.5 ga high tensile, and please don't say 12.5 ga. sleeves.

Asked by: trailmaster
You would want to use 2-3 crimp sleeves.

Has anyone successful crimped 17 AWG aluminum wire with this tool?

Asked by: Bob Borland
Yes, this tool can be used to crimp 17 AWG aluminum wire. However, we do not recommend use if you intend to use the wire for anything outside of fencing purposes.
