Cracks and causes shorts

I purchased and used over 50 of these insulators on my farm this Spring. We used great care in installing them, wrapping around new 6-inch diameter wood posts and new woven wire fence. In the past 60-days everyone of these insulators has developed hairline cracks, causing shorts where the insulator wraps over woven wire, or is near a staple. I find and repair an average of 3/day by loosening the insulator and wrapping it with a section of old garden hose. Yesterday it rained and 12-new shorts developed. The electric shorts that develop are a serious fire hazard. Please do not use these. I recommend using sections of old garden hose instead. These are a nightmare!

Not Thick Enough

I’m very disappointed with these. A tremendous waste of time and money. I installed 40 of these. When I turned the fence on most of them arc from the wire to the aluminum strip. Then the voltage hitting the aluminum strip leaks to my posts.From there the stray voltage leaks through my gate. I have no choice but to redo all end-post terminations with a better product. 5 wire, high tensile galvanized wire, 6” wooden posts with a Gallagher 3.6 Joule charger.
