I bought this particular fixed blade to attach a wooden "broom" handle to make a 5 to 6 foot spear. The blade was a bit difficult to sharpen, but was able to put a good sharp edge on it. After unscrewing and removing the plastic handle portion from the blade and attaching it to wooden handle, the back of the blade is a bit larger than the broom handle which means it doesn't look "flush-fit" and requires black electrical tape wrapped around it just for a better aesthetic look (had to use duct tape as I was out of electrical tape, but will rewrap it when I get electrical tape). However, this should make a good spear due to size of blade (longer the blade, easier to chip, bend, or break). Once I replace the wrapped tape, this will definitely look better. Anyhow, this will end up being a good spear for less than $30 total spent. My biggest complaint, I placed order 2/19/24, but due to not being informed when it shipped and when it arrived, I was not informed until 3/5/24 (15 days total) it was at store for pick up. Tractor Supply did apologize and did make things right with me. Now bring on the Zombie Apocalypse!!
