"Soft" Metal

I am in an area where the soil is "hard" with a lot of small rocks. In a 4-hour period, the blade looses its "cutting edge" and I have to apply a lot of vertical pressure in order for the blade to "bite" into the soil. In loose soil, the blade works ideally.
