I'm 64 year old woman and disabled I had a lot of painting on the outside of my home to do and was on a deadline the old paint that was pealing wasn't scraping off easily, I bought this sander to help with the removal of the very old paint, this sander removed ALL the old paint up to 60 + years, in a zip, the pads are so EASY to change I couldn't believe it after using an OLD SANDER, it took long to change the pads up to 20 minutes and they'd last less than 5 minutes before they'd rip, so I bought a NEW SANDER, the pads NEVER RIPED, they lasted a long time, the sander is SO LIGHT & EASY to maneuver I was done in no time "I love this Sander"

I have other orbital sanders and this Dewalt out performs all the others. The dust collection of this unit has reduced excess sanding dust by 70%.

I really like this orbit sander. I've been using it for about 5 years now and it is still going just as strong as ever with no issues. The size is great - I have somewhat smaller hands for a man and have no problems using it. Vibration is minimal so it is comfortable to use for longer periods of time. Hook and loop system hasn't worn a bit. Overall, this tool does exactly what it's supposed to do and it does it well. My only complaint - and my reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 - is that the dust containment leaves a bit to be desired. Yes, there's a collection port and a collection bag on the port. With just the bag attached, you're going to have a big mess on your hands anyway. You definitely need to hook up to a vacuum if you're using indoors. Even with a vac, things can still get a bit messy. But the bag doesn't do much at all. Again, it's a very small complaint in the bigger scheme of things. The tool itself is top quality and a workhorse at that. I'd absolutely buy again and would (and have) recommend to friends.

I bought this a few months ago and so far it has lived up to the Dewalt quality. It is simple and does the job. Curious to see how it fairs after a year. Using it as a hobby/DIY builder, so use is average. I like that it is corded so I don't have to worry about a battery. The dust port collects dust fairly well.
