"One and Done" Issue - defective from new

The first time I used this saw it developed a rather inconvenient quirk where it would only work once after connecting the battery. After each trigger pull/operation I had to disconnect and reconnect the battery. A quick internet search tells me this is a common problem with this tool. It was brand new, I didn't even get a chance to experience the other widely reported issue of oil leaking. Honestly, i would have tolerated the oil leak on a saw that was otherwise functional. Mine, unfortunately, was not. Not what I expect from DeWalt

I bought it about a month ago and love the saw for clearing trails and cutting lanes around tree stands. Only problem is the oil leaking all over. Now I carry a can of PB blaster and lube the chain every now and then. It doesn’t rev at high speed like a gas saw. And only small cutting so hand lubing is easier. Other than that… I would buy it again just not use the oiler
