Q: What is the knurled diameter

  • A: Almost everything in the description, and in the answers, is wrong. With newly bought pack in one hand and a rule and micrometer in the other: first, the description: there are five (not four) studs in the pack. The overall length is almost exactly 2". The length under the head (the shank length) is a hair over 1-3/4". The thread is as advertised, 1/2"-20 NF. Other dimensions: the diameter of the knurled (or spline) section varies slightly: I measured 0.539" to 0.543"; best to just say .54" +/-. The knurled section starts 1/16" below the head and extends for 3/8". There is then a short (5/32") section of plain taper, followed by the threaded section, which extends to the tip (approx. 1-1/4"). Aside from the length of the spline (which has doubled), these closely match those in my 15-year-old Carryon 4x6 utility trailer, which is the important thing!

    Overpriced

Save yourself the time AND money, and just go to AutoZone or maybe another auto parts store. AutoZone had these same studs for $10 cheaper. They also had more in stock at a location much closer to me. Product worked well, just overpriced from TS.
