The California Air Tools 20040C Ultra Quiet & Oil-Free Air Compressor is designed to be one of the quietest 4.0 Hp air compressors in the industry producing only 75 decibels of sound. The Powerful (2) 2.0 HP (SP-9421-22060) motors operates at only 1680 RPM creating less noise and less wear. The "New" SP Series of Ultra Quiet Air Compressor Motors have been designed to increase duty cycle and allow for longer continuous run times. The Oil-Free Dual Piston Pump System is engineered for high performance and durability. The CAT-Air Compressor has a Oil-Free Dual Piston pump designed to have a life cycle before wear of 3000 Plus hours compared to other comparable air compressors with life cycles of 1500 hours or less. The Oil-Free pump allows for use in a variety of temperatures (cold starts) and uneven terrains (no oil in the pump). The large 20 gal. Steel Air Tank is just the right size for shop or garage. Q: How well will this work for using this to paint vehicles?
a year ago- A: The CAT-20040C model will maintain 12.4 cfm @40 PSI which will satisfy many HVLP (high volume low pressure) spray gun operations for painting vehicles/panels since many paint booth professionals set spray guns @30-35 PSI. However, if your HVLP gun has an operating cfm closer to 13.5 cfm @30 PSI then we would suggest our 60 Gallon CAT-60040CAD model. Please check the operating specifications on your HVLP gun. The CAT-20040C & CAT-60040CAD compressors both have a pressure regulator knob and output gauge so you can set/regulate the output pressure right on the air compressor. NOTE: We do suggest the addition of an in-line desiccant air cleaner/dryer (i.e. PA208503AV CAMPBELL HAUSFELD, etc.) between the compressor and your HVLP gun to dry the air ~85%; this will help maintain the integrity of the spray paint/coating.Anonymousa year agoHelpful?

Q: In the description it says "Low amp draw - 14 Amps - 220 Volts 60 Hertz" however in the specifications it says "110 Volts" I could be wrong but this doesn't make sense to me.
