We started feeding our 8lb Miniature Schnauzer, Simon, the G/I Nat'l Vet Diet wet & dry food about a month ago. He is 7 yrs old and has had IBS since before we adopted him. He constantly either has lose stools or constipation and is very finicky about what he eats. Our vet recommended a different prescription dog food a while back ago, that I refused to put him on do to the ingredients. I am a dog food snob. After losing a husky to cancer a view years back, I began researching any and all foods, treats, toys; even their water. (We switched the dogs to distilled water (fluoride found in tap water is not healthy for dogs). Those other prescription dog foods are loaded with Pea Protein, Chicken By-Product Meal & Corn Gluten Meal, Whole Grain Corn and even Ground up Pecan Shells). None of which offer a lot of nutritional value to dogs and can be unhealthy for them as well. We have fed our other Schnauzers (regular) Blue for over 14 years. Needless to say I was super thrilled when Blue came out with their own prescription food. We have seen some major improvements with Simon. He doesn't immediately have to do his business right after he eats. His "business" is more firm and normal colored. It does take him a minute to warm up to the food but once he does, he gobbles it down. Can't wait to see the improvement over this next month as he will be on straight up Blue G/I food (had to mix w/ his original food the first few weeks). If I had one bad thing to say, I wish they offered a "middle" sized bag. 6lbs is too small & 22lbs is too big.
