I will start by noting my dissatisfaction is not tied to the product. I have been feeding my dogs this food for years and it is one of the few brands that does well with my older pups sensitive stomach. My frustration comes from the difficulty trying to figure out delivery. When I purchased and set up the auto-ship the website said order would be delivered by the 22nd. I waited and nothing happened with the order, I had to go into schedule the shipment? I ended up having to go to a local store to pick up food because I ran out waiting for my order from TSC. I am still waiting on part of my order that says delivery must be scheduled but it's not giving me an option to schedule. It's now over a week past the initially stated delivery date and I will have to again pick up feed from a local store to ensure I don't run out. Where is the convenience? Additionally I have now been on hold for 20-minutes waiting for customer service to answer. I will be cancelling all of my auto shipments from TSC.

One thing I appreciate is that it gives working-dog level calories without being so rich that it upsets his stomach during exercise. His digestion has stayed consistent, stools are firm, and he eats it eagerly even after hard rides. Other owners mention similar improvements in coat condition, digestion, and maintaining condition in active dogs. For anyone using a dog as a true riding companion — especially alongside gaited horses covering real mileage — I think Black Gold Explorer 26/18 is a solid choice. It has done well fueling long-distance trail and endurance-style rides while keeping my golden lean, energetic, and ready to go again the next day.
