Technically, I would rate it 4.75. You are not going to beat it for the price. I saw many similar gates for between $500 & $1,500. Admittedly, the others usually came with a post. For this, you must provide the post. I would recommend a 6x6 post planted in concrete, because the gate weighs over 40 pounds & that weight is going to be hanging way off to the side. I believe a 4x4 would be inadequate. It is well built & VERY sturdy. I really liked that it is adjustable in length: you can lock it in place or make it retractable. The paint job on mine was great, although I notice someone complained about receiving one scratched up. (I wonder is it was a return that was resold).

Damaged on arrival was not packak3d correctly
