The Avenger 32 oz. AG Optima Burndown Herbicide Concentrate is an excellent botanical alternative to synthetic, toxic herbicides when being used in areas where children and pets are present. Intended for both agricultural and non-agricultural use, this herbicide concentrate has a more economical dilution ratio versus competitors. Using a natural citrus oil base, the weed killer kills a broad spectrum of weeds and unwanted grasses naturally and quickly.

  • Non-toxic, non-selective and post-emergence weed and grass killer quickly and effectively controls grasses and broadleaf weeds in crop and non-crop areas
  • Active ingredient d-Limonene is made of citrus oil that naturally strips away the waxy plant cuticle, causing it to dehydrate and die
  • Versatile enough to kill an array of unwanted grasses and weeds quickly and naturally
  • Ideal weed killer for use in areas often occupied by children and pets
  • Contains a more economical dilution ratio when placed next to competitor brands
  • Apply AG Optima at a 7 to 10% mixture depending on the size of the weeds; 7% for smaller, young, actively growing weeds and grasses and 10% for controlling larger, tough-to-kill weeds; use the lowest mixture whenever possible to control weeds and grass
  • University and independent testing results prove Avenger's AG Optima Burndown Herbicide as effective
  • Environmentally-friendly weed killer concentrate is approved for use in organic gardening by the U.S. Department of Agriculture's (USDA) National Organic Program (NOP) Rule
  • Comes in a 32 oz. container for long-lasting use
  • Always follow the label directions before use for best results
  • Herbicide concentrate is made in the U.S.A.
  • Excellent botanical alternative to synthetic, toxic herbicides

Q&As

1 - 4 of 4 Questions

Q: Will it kill Greenbriar (Similax)?

1 Answer
  • A: Hello, Thank you for your question. The Avenger 32 AG Optima Burndown Herbicide Concentrate is a non-selective and post-emergence weed killer that contains d-Limonene. This ingredient works to dissolve the plants surface and slowly dehydrate it until it dies. Greenbrier (Similax) is known to be a tough, woody and thick vine that can be difficult to kill. This is not listed as a controlled species in the product information and there is not much documentation regarding the effectiveness of d-Limonene on Greenbrier plants. Because the Avenger AG Optima Concentrate is a non-selective herbicide it would likely have some effect on the plant but may require multiple applications to fully eliminate it. Herbicides containing Glyphosate or Triclopyr may provide better results.

Q: Will this kill purslane?

1 Answer
  • A: Hi, This product could be effective if applied at the seedling stage. If your purslane is more mature, you will need the herbicides dithiopyr, pendimethalin, or combinations of benefin and trifluralin or benefin and oryzalin (used in bermudagrass turf only) to control common purslane as preemergent treatments.
