Item Information

GrazonNext HL Specialty Herbicide is a next-generation herbicide that provides better efficacy on most broadleaf weed species and an outstanding environmental profile, thanks to advanced weed control technology. Especially tough on hard-to-kill perennials, including nightshades, horse nettle and Texas bull nettle. Offers outstanding control of many other broadleaf weeds, such as biennial and perennial thistles, cocklebur, dandelion, annual broomweed, common mullein, curly dock, ironweed and ragweeds, along with suppression of encroaching brush. Specifically designed for rangeland and pasture use. Safe to desirable grasses, including bahiagrass, bermudagrass, fescue, orchard and mixed native grasses. Excellent tank-mix partner with brush control products, such as Remedy Ultra or PastureGard HL herbicides for one-pass weed and brush control. No grazing restrictions for any type of livestock, including lactating dairy animals, beef cattle, sheep, goats and horses. Can be used on seasonally dry wetlands and can be applied up to water's edge.

  • Fast burndown; lasting results
  • Excellent postemergence and season-long performance on many broadleaf weeds
  • Effectively controls weeds at multiple growth stages allowing for wider application windows
  • Offers flexible rates (1.2 to 2.1 pints/acre), depending on target weeds
  • Can be tank-mixed with liquid fertilizer
  • Nonvolatile, so it stays where it's sprayed
  • Is not a federally Restricted Use Pesticide

Rated 1 out of 5 by from You cannot compost manure after using Grazon!!! Manure from pastures sprayed with Grazon cannot be composted. Trust me, I was composting horse manure for friends and family and it has ruined our gardens. Dow clearly states not to compost on their label. I was told it was safe for horses to eat, so I assumed it was safe. If you're not going to use manure out of your pastures it work great. But you need to know it will stay in your pasture for up to five years.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from $ per acre way less than others, great 4 FIREWEED Dont let cost of the bottle sway you. Look at mixing ratio...it costs a fraction per acre compared to other effective products. GREAT for livestock pastures. Kills FIREWEED and other weeds without killing grass. Most herbicides will NOT kill fireweed effectively...not even Roundup. This has the ingredient(s) that is the most effective and it is considerably cheaper per acre than some of the other products that kill fireweed and other pasture weeds. Be sure to read label especially if you have legumes in your pasture grass that you dont want to kill.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Powerful Stuff This stuff is used on a local farm, where it is darn effective. However, for residential/home application, there are some drawbacks; The residue does hang around for months, which provides additional protection, but has damaged some sensitive landscape plants via grass clippings being discharged into the planting (I surmise). The spec sheet does say that you should not use clippings in your compost for 18 months after applying. FYI.

I am trying to find something to address the Kudzu in my hay fields.I have cut the hay approx. 3 weeks ago and plan to cover with 2 4 D to address a variety of broad leaf weeds. I have been told that Grazon may be marginally effective.

Asked by: Master piddler
If the kudzu survives the repeated mowing we would use crossbow or grazon to clean up the kudzu problem. 1 at per acre in crossbow. 1.5 pints per acre on grazon. Both will give great control of kudzu.

Why is this product considered safe for pastures but not for lawns?

Asked by: leslieanne
That is just the way DOW labeled the product for use. The chemical stays in the clippings and can damage ornamentals if they are thrown into a flower bed among other things.
