Item Information

Algi-Cure Algaecide/Cyanobacteriocide is a liquid copper formulation proven to control algae and eliminate the cyanobacteria that can cause taste and odor issues.

Available in a 1 gal. container, most mild forms of algae can be killed using 1 gal. per acre-ft of water. for severe infestations, users can increase the dose up to 5.3 gal. per acre-ft of water. See product label for specifics on dosing by species and growth form. Dilute with enough water to ensure even distribution and spray evenly across the algae.

Tips for Success:

- Apply early in the day when water temperatures are at least 60°F.
- Treat when growth first appears, waiting until algae is a big problem is harder to treat.
- When fish are present, treat algae in small sections to avoid oxygen depletion from decaying vegetation consuming too much oxygen at once.
- Do not use with Koi or goldfish. If trout are present, see label for water hardness limitations with this sensitive species.

  • Eliminates the cyanobacteria that can cause taste and odor problems
  • Certified to NSF/ANSI Standard 60 for drinking water
  • Chelated copper formulation stays in solution for long-lasting control
  • Helps improve water clarity
  • Treated water can be used immediately for swimming, fishing, further potable water treatments, animals drinking the water or irrigation.

Applied Biochemists Algi-Cure Algaecide, 395404A is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 10.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Algi-Cure worked great. I wasn't sure this was going to work, but I used it for my pool which seems to be problematic for algae this season. I applied half the bottle of 2.5 gal to a large 30000 gal pool, but it didn't seem to be working, so I added a little more. I may not have needed any more, because it just takes a little time. My pool had turned very green by the time I used Algi-Cure and it took awhile for it to kill all the algae. I did use any other chemical during this, like chlorine, just the Algi-Cure. Since it took care of the algae, and after cleaning up the dead algae debris, i have only added a little more to keep my pool clear for going on 2 months now and still clear

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Algi-cure Tampering??? Bottle was half full and was so weak it did not do the job that it always has in the past. Went back to Tractor Supply to get another product, none available but one bottle of the same...half full too. Clerk said she was sorry...not good enough.

How much Algi-Cure, algaecide/cyanobacteriocide do I mix with gallon of water?

Asked by: pumpkinhead
Dosage rates and frequency of treatment should be based upon the sensitivity of species present, the extent/biomass of the bloom and the depth of the growth present in the water column. Dilute at 14 ounces per gallon of water.

Is it fish safe

Asked by: John2019
Our Algi-Cure product can be used with fish present when used according to the label directions. The exceptions are DO NOt use with Koi, Goldfish and not with trout in soft water. We also recommend only treating 1/4 to 1/2 of the of the pond if there is fish and to wait 14 days between treatments to prevent oxygen depletion.

Is this product safe for the fish in our pond? Also, i have seaweed(or so I think that’s what it is) growing up form the bottom of the pond. Will this help with that? Pond is 25 feet deep.

Asked by: Kay18
Applied Biochemists® Algi-Cure is a copper algaecide, it can be used with fish in the pond as long as you only treat 1/2 of the pond at one time. The only exception is this product should NOT to be used if you have Koi, Goldfish or Carp since they can not tolerate copper and it will result in the lose of fish.
