Q: Do I have to do anything to the ground before I spread the seed? There is currently a lot of grass
7 months ago- A: Hello, thank you for your question. Here are the planting instructions from the product label. PLANTING DIRECTIONS 1.) Antler King's HONEY HOLE may be planted in the spring of fall. If you want a fall attractant, plant in late summer or early fall. If you want a preferred food source during late season, plant in the spring. 2.) Take a soil test to determine the pH level. If needed, apply enough lime to raise the pH to 6.0 or higher. Note: HONEY HOLE will produce the most tonnage when the pH level is between 6.5-7.0. 3.) Eliminate any existing weeds on the proposed plot, either by raking, mowing, discing, or spraying with a contact weed killer, such as Roundup. Wait 7 days to plant after spraying with any weed killer. 4.) To maximum growth potential, spray Antler King's PLOT MAX to help raise the pH, aerate the soil, increase organic matter, help the soil retain moisture and create an environment for the plants to thrive. Optimal results can be achieved by reapplying PLOT MAX in both spring and fall. Note: When spraying a liquid weed killer on a new plot, mix PLOT MAX in the same tankas the weed killer. 5.) One bag of HONEY HOLE will plant 1/2 acre (approx. 22,000 sq. ft.). Spread 300 lbs. of 19-19-19 fertilizer per acre and till into the soil prior to planting. For improved results, apply 200 lbs. of 19-19-19 fertilizer per acre after planting and spray twice with Antler King's JOLT. 6.) Plant HONEY HOLE seeds less than 1/4 inch deep. 7.) After plants are 3 inches tall, spray with Antler King's HOLT Foliar Fertilizer, which has been formulated to provide food for plant growth. Spray monthly for best results.7 months agoHelpful?
Q: How many hours of sunlight can it be planted in the shade?

Q: I have problems with wild turkeys devouring seed. Would the orange coating on this deter them?
5 years ago- A: The plant varieties that make up Honey Hole are easy to use, establish fast and grow quickly…while a 6.0-7.0 pH is preferred Honey Hole can grow in a wide variety of soil conditions and is a little more tolerant to soil acidity than some food plot mixes. Deer will begin to consume the leafy greens as the plants begin to grow and mature, but once the weather turns cold and the plants are impacted by a hard killing frost or multiple hard frosts a molecular change occurs…this dramatic change triggers plant maturity and allows the plants to convert their stored up starches into sweet sugars. This change increases consumption and deer will flock to your Honey Hole plot to consume the sweet tasting sugary plants providing an extremely palatable, highly digestible energy source the deer need for survival.5 years agoHelpful?
Q: Planted a 1 acre plot with honey hole couple weeks ago and seeing sprouts already. Do you recommend a weed killer to apply that will take care of weeds but not hurt your product?
