Great Plot Seed for Central Maine.

I planted 40 lbs of PlotSpike seed in about a 100' X 40' well cultivated patch in my field in late August. I was really surprised at how well it came up. It's now mid Nov. and the deer are really hitting it hard. Love the diversity of forage in this mix. The peas and radishes are huge! Oats/Rye/Clover what else can I say, I love this mix. It's about 24" high and just as green and lush as can be.

Heavily weevil infested

Just finished putting this out. Noticed a white powder when I first started spreading it (by hand, from a bucket), but thought it was some sort of talc. Seemed strange, as the bag specifically said "no fillers, no chemical coatings." When I got to the bottom of the bag, I found that the powder wasn't a coating, it was weevil frass. On close inspection, I found a large number of seed were eaten out, and there were a large number of weevils in my bucket. Don't know how many, and don't have the time or inclination to count. But it was a lot. If I get 50% germination, I'll be very lucky. In there defense, it was April. Maybe if I'd got it in the fall I wouldn't have had this problem. Or maybe I just wouldn't have found the frass if I'd planted before the weevils emerged. But the seeds were heavily infested.
