I really wanted to like this as a low dust alternative to the TSC pine pellets. In the end, I cannot tolerate this product. It started out looking great. Smelled a little funny, but I attributed that to the hardwood. After the first night of use I could NOT get the manure fork to go through it to "sift" out the waste, if you can call it "sift". This stuff would NOT go through the tines of my fork, which is just a standard sifting fork, nothing weird. It took 3x longer to clean the stalls. I had to rake out an area in the middle of the stall down to the rubber mats. Then I had to dig to unbury the poop, then I had to hit the poop into the opening, separating it from the bedding as much as possible. Only then, when it was on the rubber mat, could I get my fork under it to pick it up. Most of the time that didn't even work. I wasted so much of this stuff simply because I couldn't get the fork to get through the bedding and under the poop. And if you're lucky enough to, the dry stuff won't fall through. So I ended up having to dump the good along with the poop into the barrel. I'd rather drive down the road throwing dollar bills out the window, at least someone could pick them up and get something for the money. On the good side, I started the bare stalls with 1.5 - 2 bags and it was plenty. It seems to last a good long time, as I kept waiting for it to get down low enough that I could change back over to the TSC pelleted bedding. It took a full week of daily cleaning before I got to that point, which I think is exceptional longevity. After 2 weeks there is still some of it left, but just a little. Also good, it does absorb the urine, however there isn't any odor control so it kinda stinks. I returned the remaining 20 bags, which was no easy job since they're big, awkward to carry, and heavy. As a side note, I ran into a person (never met before) picking up the pellet bedding and we both commiserated about this aspen bedding. We both had the same experiences, same frustrations, same waste. And we both went back to the TSC pellets.
