Q: Is there a grinder that could actually grind wheat or corn into flour? We are considering retreating to a less complex life.

A: Hi Neighbor- Yes, this grinder can produce flour-like consistency. It comes with four different sieves, and users have noted that even with the largest sieve, it grinds corn to a very fine powder, with the smallest sieve capable of making flour from dried grains.

Q: Will is grind picked corn cob and all?

1 Answer
  • A: The opening in the hopper is only 1 1/2" wide, so most ear corn would be too big for the opening. Should your ear corn happen to be smaller in diameter than 1 1/2", it would work, but you would have to hand feed the unit to ensure it doesn't run on empty.

Works fine

Just ground 100 lbs of corn for chickens. Some of it was a little fine on the biggest setting. But in general it should work for us.

Buy extra switches

I use this to mill grain for my distillery (small batches). It blew a switch after about a year of use. Keep in mind I'm talking about 300 lbs once a month. I just blew another switch after about another year or so of use. Surprise, surprise, they sell switches here.......not saying they are doing it to make money. But there is clearly a known issue with this product. Aside from that. For the price it's not bad.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Solid construction.

Works great, fairly fast and loud. Is of good solid construction and I believe it will last many years. Unfortunately it says not suitable for human food but does not explain why, suspect eu regulations so will clean and sterilize if I decide to use it for food.
