Q: How to read markings
5 days ago1 Answer
- A: The tube is designed to hold up to 5 inches of rainwater, with large, white magnified numbers indicating the whole inches. Between each whole inch, the fractional hash marks represent increments of 1/8 of an inch (0.125").Refer to this guide to translate the lines between each whole number: 1st line = 1/8 in. (0.125") 2nd line = 1/4 in. (0.25") 3rd line = 3/8 in. (0.375") 4th line (Mid-way) = 1/2 in. (0.50") 5th line = 5/8 in. (0.625") 6th line = 3/4 in. (0.75") 7th line = 7/8 in. (0.875") 8th line = Next Whole Inch (1.0", 2.0", etc.) To read the GroundWork Easy-Read 12.5 in. Magnifying Rain Gauge, look directly at the magnified water level at eye level and read the mark aligned with the bottom of the meniscus (the curved dip in the water's surface)3 days agoHelpful?
Q: Setting it side by side to any straight walled container or a straight tube rain gauge, I believe that this measures LOW by about 1/2". Does anyone agree?

Ive had one of these for years and its pretty accurate ,even against my electronic gauge. The person that got 4" too much rain is not checking it right, it has to be the same tube diameter to be able to check it !!!! and I have to take it down in the winter cause it will bust.

Great rain gauge

My tractor supply is my go to store for many things. We needed a new rain gauge and I was ordering my horse pellets so I ordered the rain gauge too! It was very reasonably priced and so easy to shop on line for pick up. Thank you Tractor Supply 😊
