Q: I don't see that taurine has been added to the 4health for Sensitive Stomach canned dog food. I believe that the kibble has it, and I know that it's been added to other 4health canned foods. Why doesn't the 4health Sensitive Stomach formula have it?

- A: Taurine is an essential nutrient for cats, as such it is added as a supplement to all cat foods. Taurine is also inherent in fish and meat proteins. As it is not considered essential for dogs, supplementation has not occurred in this specific diet.2 years agoHelpful?

TRY THIS FOOD!!!

So after almost 3 years of trying to diagnose my rescues who is now 13 years young the vets decided she has IBS. Tried every dog food known, tried home cooked meals and still no success. Went to UGA vet hospital and suggested Hydrolized dog food. Even that didn’t help plus the fact she wouldn’t eat it. In desperation I Googled (again) dog food for sensitive stomach and this food showed up. Well!!!!! My Libby is finally happy and healthy. She loves the taste, her stools are finally firm again and her stomach, intestines are no longer squealing! And we give her half canned and half kibble. I do add a probiotic to her evening meal and this combo seems to be working. I just PRAY Tractor supply never stops making this food. If you have ever struggled with a similar situation please give this a try.

My dog had been eating this for 3 years with no problems. Recently the recipe appears to have changed. It’s watery and the consistency of soup. I have a whole case I can’t use as there is obviously something g wrong with it. Shortly after the recipe changed my dog developed a cough and started choking up mucous. Xrays showed severe chest congestion and inflammation. After antibiotics and steroids she seemed better. She’s coughing again (after a clean X-ray) and is refusing to eat her food. I fed her another brand and she ate eagerly. Researched her food and found several similar cases with the same symptoms. Do your research. I will never use this food again. And I plan on following up with my vet with what I learned in my research.

Using a house brand was a mistake for us

While the product was generally decent quality, the subscription has become a problem and availability at stores anywhere near me is very limited. I normally keep a couple of weeks of food on hand because shipping can sometimes be unpredictable, but after not delivering my order 2 weeks ago, they also cancelled the next order without any notice. I have exhausted my backlog and now my elderly, insulin dependent dog is having to suddenly change to another food from another supplier, which is difficult with her sensitive stomach and need for consistent carb content. I think going with the house brand instead of something more widely available like Science Diet is risky. It's more affordable, but if they don't keep sending it, you're at risk of not having what your pet needs.

Both My Bully and Pit mix dogs were licking everything after eating this food. According to Google the ingredient, carrogeenan, can cause this issue.
