Also, we have added some additional features in the last month...for example, the hardware cloth and frame go all the way to the ground now to better protect the ducks. Q: Does this pen have a small removable wire section for if you wanted to add more secure enclosure space for ducks (kind of like adding more run space for chickens).

- A: Hi LeAnna: One possible solution: You can alter the structure of one of the panels and add a pen for more space for the ducks, but it will take a little modification. The simplest way to modify one of the panels would be to cut a 2 x 2 piece of wood across the length of the panel at the height you want the opening, cut off the cloth wire mesh in that section, and staple the exposed cloth wire mesh to the 2 x 2 you added across the section of the panel. The panels on the door side are 39 inches and the panels on the front are 35 inches so that would be the length of the 2 x 2 you add. So if you opted for a height of 18 inches and you selected the side of the coop, your ducks would have a 39 by 18 inch opening to move between the pen and barn. I hope this helps! Q: Do the ducks walk directly on the wire floor outside or do you cover it with straw? How do you clean the open area, can a person walk on the wire floor?

- A: The wire floor works well uncovered (no need for straw). If the ducks are past the duckling stage (when fully feathered and ready to be outdoors), they can walk on the wire with no issues. The wire is not constructed for people to walk on it. If you walk directly on the open area wire, it will break and pop through. There are only 2 main reasons to access the open area: 1 – Clean the pool and 2 – Clean the surface of wire flooring. The rear door is alongside the pool so there is no need to step into the back area to clean the pool. The pool will need to be cleaned regularly. Regarding the wire floor, we advise using a hose to wash out any duck waste from the open area.3 years agoHelpful?

I would not recommend

I would not recommend this duck coop. The hardware cloth is flimsy and very thin. Not predator proof. The staples used are so small they almost disappear into the wood. I expected so much more. I’m very disappointed. The latches on all the doors can easily be opened, there is little security. We will have to do more just trying to make it secure with locks and proper hardware cloth. The instructions are awful. I’ve put together dozens of pieces for ikea. This was far worse.
Drainage is decent. Accessibility is good (the raccoons would agree) there is ventilation. Comfort: Seems comfortable enough. Hygiene: There is room to get in clean it and the pool has a short hose to drain it and keep the water clean

No, I do not recommend this product.

Keeps my Ducks Clean!

Finally my ducks are not all muddy. This has a raised floor that keeps my ducks dry and clean. I really like the pond with the drain hose that makes it really easy to clean. Took me about three hours to build. I put pea gravel under my barn that I can just hose down to clean.

Finally someone is thinking of ducks! As both a chicken and duck owner, this coop has been a DREAM. My ducks immediately took to it after I filled up the pool. There’s built in drainage, so just having to unscrew the plug rather than pick up and dump the pool like traditional kiddie pools, has been amazing on my back. It’s beautiful AND functional as well. The ducks can easily walk on the wire floors (which helps their feet dry properly after swimming), and the nesting/sleeping area having a full size door makes cleaning and egg collection so much easier. With there being so many options for chicken coops online and in store, it's actually pretty cool to see a company go beyond the scope of regular coops. I truly am amazed by the build and design behind this. It’s brilliant.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Horrible material and no customer service

Do Not by this product unless you live in a bubble with 0 rain or wind. The material they use is worse than particle board. I’ve called company to resolve
Issues and have heard crickets. This was my 7th chicken house the newest to my collection and fell apart 6 months after getting it. Please if you love your chickens rethink this material.
