Because this unit uses .095 trimmer line to mulch the leaves, grass, etc. this unit will probably not do the best job chopping up walnuts nor we would recommend. Great leaf shredder

This would make leaves to mulch in short order. I like that it uses thick weed eater type strings rather than blades. The adjustable height is a plus.
