Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not the best pellets I have tried to use these pellets a few times now and I have reservations. My stove is small and if the pellets do not burn hot and clean it is very evident. These pellets are in a white bag with blue writing. I am no expert but these pellets burn orange instead of bright yellow. With good pellets the glass will stay "see through" for the day.....with these pellets after 1-2 hours the glass is heavily sooted and opaque after 3-4 hours. Also, the stove becomes noisy, maybe the auger or the fan....not sure. With other 100% hardwood pellets my stove runs quiet. I did not even have a clinker until I used TSC pellets. I cannot say I have noticed a problem with heat output.

which is better...'hard' wood or 'soft' wood for my pellet stove ?

Asked by: awww
Traditionally, hardwood has been the preferred fuel in wood stoves and fireplaces because it naturally has a lower moisture content, is a denser fuel, burns longer, and has hotter coals. Softwood is known for burning hotter initially, easy to light, having more pitch or sap, more sparks and sound as it burns, but burns up more quickly. However, the pelletizing process takes away many of these differences, so it would be up to your preference.
