Rated 4 out of 5 by from They do the job Bought 15 bags at store after other places are out for the season. They burn good and give heat.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from burns better than premium Not sure why these get bad reviews. My breckwell loves em and they burn hotter than the more expensive brands
Date published: 2019-03-10
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better than other brands They are more consistent in length, low ash content and throw out very good heat. I’ve tried Maedder brothers pellets and due to inconsistent length of the pellets (1/4-5inches) I stopped using them as it clogged my augers causing the stove to shut down. I highly recommend the pellets from Tractor Supply. The staff is very helpful and knowledgeable.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Small sized pellets These pellets seem to produce more ash and require more frequent cleaning of stove

which is better...'hard' wood or 'soft' wood for my pellet stove ?

Asked by: awww
Traditionally, hardwood has been the preferred fuel in wood stoves and fireplaces because it naturally has a lower moisture content, is a denser fuel, burns longer, and has hotter coals. Softwood is known for burning hotter initially, easy to light, having more pitch or sap, more sparks and sound as it burns, but burns up more quickly. However, the pelletizing process takes away many of these differences, so it would be up to your preference.

are these pellets safe to use with animals and what is the difference between these pellets and the pellets you can put in a stall for horse bedding instead of shavings? thank you

Asked by: barb1947
Wood fuel pellets are not intended for use as bedding. Wood fuel pellets are made from hardwood, and they are not as absorbent as soft wood pellets intended for animal bedding.
