Great pellets
These are a really great consistent size for Enviro Pellet Stoves. We have a Mini and they feed much better for a consistent heat. You don't have to keep playing with the feed rate to keep a consistent heat and they burn cleaner and hotter too.

Mixed Bag

Ok, here's the problem with reviewing "Soft wood pellets" from TSC. Depending on when and where you bought your pellets you're going to get different brands and differing qualities even in the same brand. That's because most manufacturers have multiple processing facilities across the nation. Different species of trees, different equipment and of course different workers. So it's vital that reviewers mention where and when they bought their pellets plus the brand name.
For years I've bought Lignetics brand here in Durango Colorado. As others have mentioned last years (purchased late 2018) batch seemed to leave more unburned residue in the burn pot. Crusty sand-like particles I suspect was dirt mixed in with the wood. Maybe a change in the way the trees were being processed. Overall Lignetics is still one of the better brands I've used.
This fall (2019) TSC isn't carrying Lignetics. I bought several (four) bags of Olympus pellets. Since I've never tried this one before I didn't want to commit to buying 1 1/2 tons without trying them first. What I've found is they are very hard to start burning and they don't burn very hot. I mean I've tried lighting them with a propane torch and they smolder and burn poorly! To get them to light I've had to "toast" a couple of cups in the oven to dry them out. Even then it still is a chore to get them to light. Maybe I got a bad batch or bags that were left out in the rain? Don't know but it doesn't give me confidence to buy 3,000 lbs of them.
