Our Norwesco Water Storage Tanks are manufactured using resins that meet FDA specifications to ensure safe storage of potable water. The dark color limits light penetration, which reduces the growth of water-borne algae. These large water storage tanks are rated at 9.2 pounds per gallon, which means that they are for water storage only and should not be used for chemicals, fertilizers or any other product. They are designed to last thanks to their corrosion-resistant polyethylene construction.

- A: From the manufacturer: What type of surface is required for placement of a vertical tank? Inspect the surface to ensure a smooth, level area that will supply full bottom support. A properly constructed concrete pad that is capable of supporting the contents of the tank is the best support and is recommended above 2,000 gallons. Other materials such as very flat blacktop, or contained, packed sand or pea gravel have been used successfully. All surfaces must maintain uniform support through freeze/thaw, erosion and other disturbances.4 years agoHelpful?
Q: Hi. Any thoughts on how to lock the cap so people can't open the tank?

- A: That you for your question! Here is the response from the manufacture. We have another lid that can be installed and is "lockable", however it is plastic still so depending upon the situation I would either recommend special ordering the locking lid and replace it, OR I would get a steel strap or make a hinging bracket to lock it in place.4 years agoHelpful?
