Cheap plastic parts that fail almost immediately

Engine shroud fell off during first use, on the third use the inside debris covers on the front wheels wore through and the drive gears clogged. Now, the seventh time using this machine, the front drive cover has broken at the bolt tabs. This is also what is used to set the front deck height. My suggestion is buy a much older unit and have it rebuilt, nearly the same or less money, and certainly less frustration and disappointment.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Expected Better

After reading a number of reviews for this mower I decided to purchase one. I should have paid more attention to the ones that mentioned all of the plastic parts that are now in use on this mower. They are not of the highest quality. I used this mower once and I was not impressed. This is suppose to be a self propelled mower but I ended up doing mower pushing than it did propelling in very short grass. I decided to return it. The return process went well. This Troy Bilt is not like the one had about a decade ago, which was a workhorse.
