Rated 2 out of 5 by from it works but not the greatest says 500 watts , hook it to 2 rv batteries and a swamp cooler that only pulls 150w it will start beeping warning low voltage in 5 minutes. will run a 50w fan ok but add a laptop and the fan starts running .... this thing pulls more power than the things you are trying to run . not happy with the money spent and i usually rave about tractor supply products

Can you attach this to an deep-cycle RV marine battery with the goal of powering a small TV plugged into the inverter?

Yes you can use the marine battery ,make sure the tv is not more than inverters output capacity 500W.

What is the input? Can you plug it into your 12 volt cigarette lighter port?

There are two sets of input cables included with this unit. If the load is less than 100W, either cable can be used as input (the cigarette cable for the 12V lighter port, or clip cable connecting to 12V lead acid battery). If the load is more than 100W the clip cables are the only connection method which can be used.
