I plan to power this from a 12v battery charged by a solar panel. How much power does the unit draw when it's powered on but nothing plugged in?

Asked by: kv3po
Please note the no-load current is less than 0.4A.

How do I know when I can plug in a power cord and have power. Power light and flaut light. are both on . But can't get power. I'm in my truck

1. If the power supply is 12V system (cigarette socket). When plug the unit into 12V socket without any electrical equipment connecting to inverter and lights are both on, then we will determine the power inverter is defective. 2. If the power supply is 12V system(cigarette socket). When plug into 12V socket with an electrical equipment connecting to inverter, lights are both on, the possible reasons are listed as followings, A. The input voltage is too low. B. The input voltage is too high. C. Appliances connected are more than inverter’s output capacity-200W. D. The inverter is over heated. You may refer to instruction manual section 3 (trouble shooting) for details related to point 2 I’ve explained.

Model 200W/ I have found a discrepancy between the manual and the physical unit. The problem deals with the 12 Volt input terminals. By convention, RED is Positive and Black is negative. Page 1 of the manual indicates otherwise. Which way is correct?

Asked by: Larry S
The physical unit is correct- Red for positive, black for negative. Vendor has revised the instruction manual.

Right out of the box and the first time plugged in, the cooling fan runs even without anything plugged in. Is the fan thermostatically controlled or does it run all the time?

Asked by: kv3po
The electric fan runs upon being plugged in, it isn’t controlled thermostatically.
