Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tough 1 slow feeder holds up well I use hay bags to slow the eating, works great for raining stall days. The Tough one holds up well.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Don't bother My horse broke the rope used to hang it within 3 days. It's also a pain to fill.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Huge and flimsy This was the fourth slow feed hay bag we've bought. It's noticeably larger than the other slow feed bags we own. I suppose it's nice that it holds more hay than the others, but it also doesn't fit any of the mounting hooks or filling brackets that we use for our other bags, so it's very awkward to use. Also, the draw cord that it hangs from is nearly twice as long as those on our other bags, and it's much thinner. That makes it uncomfortable to carry a full hay bag by the skinny string, and it also means we have to wrap the string around several hooks so that the bag hangs at the proper height for the horses. I'll never buy a Tough-1 bag again. I'm going to throw this one on the shelf and go buy another Weaver bag.

How well do these hold up? How many times a month will I be replacing these?

Asked by: Nami
Thank you for your inquiry. Honestly the life of the hay net really depends on the horse. We have had customers that have said these bags lasted them a few seasons and then we have had some that have said they only lasted a month, but that was "normal" for their horse due to it being more destructive.

Would this be good to use for a 36"mini horse overnight in his stall?

Asked by: SherryC
We usually recommend a hay bag that has 1 1/2" openings for mini's to offer even slower intake, but if this net is hung at a proper height that does not allow the mini to be able to paw at the net there should be no problem. Thank you!
