This product contains a mixture of premium Perennial Ryegrasses, Fine Fescues, and Kentucky Bluegrass to adapt to sunny or shady conditions, 100% recycled mulch to help keep seeds moist and in place, and fertilizer for fast growth and thick results. In fact, this mix starts to grow in as few as 7 days, feeds up to 6 weeks, and absorbs 3x its weight in water! Apply in the fall or spring when daytime temperatures are between 60°F and 80°F. Evenly spread a thin layer of PatchMaster Lawn Repair Mix so the area is completely covered. A deep and thorough initial watering is the key to success. Gently water the area until PatchMaster is completely saturated and no more water is being absorbed. Continue to water daily or more as needed to keep the soil moist. One 10 lb. bag of Scotts PatchMaster Lawn Repair Mix Sun + Shade Mix has a bare spot coverage of 145 sq. ft. and a thin grass coverage of 290 sq. ft.

Product worked well for me.

Lots of bad reviews, but i bought it and its working great. You have to spread it thick and shake the bag up to mix it. But all the spots i put have grass shooting up thick. I dont think it covers as far as they say though. I wish it wasnt so expensive, i need this for my entire yard.

We bought this product to fill in some bare patches on our lawn. We followed all of the directions and it's been 3 weeks and nothing. We added new topsoil and tried seeding again, still nothing. Very disappointed. This purchase was a fail.

This seed generally requires temperatures consistently in the 65+ degrees range. Cool nighttime temperatures and fluctuating temperatures will slow germination. We recommend watering 1-2 times per day to keep the seeds moist, until seed germinates. Then, we recommend watering about 1-1 1/2" per week as needed. Both excessive moisture and not enough moisture can inhibit seed germination. Should place a layer no thicker than ½ inch thick If applied thicker than ½ inch then seed can be smothered by the mulch in the product thus preventing good germination. Scotts has gone way downhill with this product!

Let me add to the poor reviews. This stuff is a joke. I followed all the instructions to a T. Shake the bag, spread evenly, water daily (or 2 times a day) and this barely grew anything. Some of the spots it grew NOTHING! I've used Scotts lawn patch years ago and it was a wonderful product. I suppose they caved to the environmentalists and used inferior "sustainable" ingredients such as that hideous shredded up newspaper they call mulch. Save your money.
