The Ritland Stove Thermometer is a handy tool to determine the relative temperature of my woodstove. I am not sure how accurate it is but it's letting me know when my stove is getting too hot or is too cold and when to make my adjustments. The price was good and it handles the heat of a hot stovetop without damaging it. It stays secure and doesn't fall off if hit with a fireplace tool. I would give this 5 stars if there weren't so many other people claiming inaccurate readings and I have no way to verify the information this Thermometer is displaying. I certainly would recommend this Rutland Thermometer as a basic tool for managing your woodstove.

had for one year. never read accurate. was at least 100F shy of actual when new. more than 200F shy of actual now. good thing we have enough sense to feel a hot stove instead of relying on this. If you overheat the firebox, they won't honor your warranty if you saud their gauge didn't read correctly
