Q&As

1 - 7 of 7 Questions

Q: Is this sprayable

1 Answer
  • Rust-OleumSupport
A: Absolutely, Steve! Rust-Oleum Specialty Farm and Implement Paint can be thinned, if necessary, with mineral spirits. For brush, roller, or airless spray application, thinning is not normally required. For airless spraying, if thinning is needed, thin up to 5% by volume. For air-atomized spray, thin up to 15% by volume. Do not thin with gasoline, lacquer thinner, or turpentine. Follow these guidelines, but refer to the spray equipment manufacturer’s instructions for oil-based paint; for airless spraying, the pump ratio is 30:1, fluid pressure is 1,600-2,400 psi, fluid tip is 0.013-0.017, and filter mesh is 100. For air-atomized spraying, the fluid tip is 0.055-0.070, fluid delivery is 10-16 oz./min. (if applicable), and pressure is 25-60 psi. - Rust-Oleum Product Support 15

Q: Can I had a hardener to this paint? What's the dry time when you thin the paint? Can you put a clear coat over it?

1 Answer
  • Rust-OleumSupport
A: Thank you for reaching out! Our Rust-Oleum Farm & Implement Enamel does not require a hardener additive, and we do not recommend adding one. Thinning is not needed, however, you can thin with acetone 5-15% by volume. Dry times depend on the thickness of the coating, so a thinned application may dry more quickly. Unthinned, the Farm & Implement Enamels dry to the touch in 2-4 hours. - Rust-Oleum Product Support 2

Q: can i use this paint in a sprayer ? if so what do i need to do so

1 Answer
  • Rust-OleumSupport
A: We like how you think! Rust-Oleum Specialty Farm and Implement Paint can be used in a paint sprayer. For air spray, we recommend that you thin the paint up to 15% with acetone. Do not thin with gasoline, lacquer thinner, turpentine, etc. For an airless sprayer, thinning is not normally required. For the application, make sure to follow the spray gun directions carefully and always keep the gun 10 to 12 inches from the surface and in motion while spraying.

Great paint

I used this paint on an older tractor I have been restoring. This paint stuck great and covered nicely. Did a little sanding on the parts I painted and it went on great. Spray is strong and even and doesnt run even when put on a little heavy.

Yes, I recommend this product.

This is a great Ford Blue paint! First off, it matched our ford tractor perfectly! We also have a few antique toy tractors we’ve had lying around in desperate need of some love and this paint made them look brand new!

Bought the fit husband who is always fixing up his cars paint due to rusting from being older. He loves how durable it is post application and how quickly it dries. It also doesn’t leave streaks for noticeable differences.
