Rated 5 out of 5 by from Squirrels LOVE These Sunflower Seeds! I purchased these for the squirrel-lunch-box which is installed on one of the trees in my backyard and the squirrels absolutely love them even more than they loved some pumpkin seeds I had previously purchased from another vendor. The little birds (and even the bigger birds) have fun with clean-up of what is "spilled" by the squirrels. There was very little dust in the bag of these Royal Wing Gray Striped Sunflower Seeds and the product is excellent!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is a quality product at a very reasonable price. The birds love it (as well as the squirrels and deer!). I will continue to buy this to have on hand throughout the winter months.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Sunflower seeds I have looked everywhere for these seeds. The oilers are plentiful everywhere. I was so happy to be able to have them delivered right to my front door. The birds & squirrels are very actively feeding in my backyard.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Cheap seeds added to the bag I switched from black oil sunflower seeds to the grey striped sunflower seeds in order to stop feeding the grackles and red wing black birds. I am only interested in feeding cardinals and they are able to crack the hard shells while the other birds cannot. The last bag of Royal Wild grey striped sunflower seeds I bought did not contain only grey striped sunflower seeds. Millet, milo and cracked corn had been added to the bag. This is the stuff you find in cheaper wild bird mixes and attracts all of the wrong birds, including house sparrows. I now have to use a colander to separate the good seeds from the bad. I pay a premium price for the grey striped sunflower seeds and do not appreciate Royal Wing diluting the product with cheap seeds. I plan to contact Royal Wing directly and ask them what their problem is.

Is this product heat treated to prevent germination? I have a customer who wants to use these to plant a sunflower garden and was wondering if these would grow actual sunflowers.

Asked by: Store manager
We do not treat our sunflower seed to stop germination however this is produced as wild bird food and not for human consumption. We cannot recommend that it be used for that purpose.
