I have been a fan of Rocky Boots going way back to my time at the police academy in 1991. i recently purchased a new pair of Rocky Portland Waterproof Public Service Boots. They are exactly what I have come to expect from Rocky. They are comfortable, durable and yes, waterproof. Well done once again Rocky.

I don’t remember my exact purchase date but I know it has not been a year. I love these boots. They are very comfortable. The only complaint I have is that the boot heel has separated. I have to glue it back to make it work. I purchased these same boots in 2012 and they were absolutely amazing. I use them to go through a fire department rookie school and put them through abuse every day. The boots held up great. I was expecting the same result this time. But we have a small flaw. It is ok, I will order another pair because they are very comfortable 15 wide boot. The only other thing I did to these boots, is change out the insole.

I boughtbthem because they looked like they were comfortable to walk and stand in during my 12hr shifts. The most painful part about these boots was breaking them in from the ankles up. The leather was just too freaking hard and painful to walk in rubbing against my flesh had to keep the laces tied at my ankles because anuly higher caused immense pain. I tried many softening Solutions but it took a while like a couple months to finally get them soft enough to not cause pain while I'm walking .as for the soles, they are very comfortable but wear down very fast causing you to not have any traction if you walk up ramps, or on really smooth cement or floors, they also started falling apart at the threads causing the sides of the boots to open as I walked. They actually provide about a good 5 months of comfort after the leather from the ankle up gets soft. After that the threads start popping and the soles wear out. I wouldnwaste my money on these again. Very painful and very disappointing.

I loved this boot! Right out of the box it was everyday wear comfortable with no break in needed. I say "loved" this boot because they stopped making the waterproof side zip in the all black boot. I have such a high instep, for me, trying to put on a pair of lace ups (since the tongue is sewn to the top) is like trying to put on a cowboy boot that is 3 sizes too small. Rocky please bring back the side zip, I know you said you could point me in the direction of a comparable boot, but I don't want a comparable, I WANT THIS ONE!!! in a side zip :)
