- A: The bolt snaps on all Retriever cable tie outs are manufactured from malleable iron. Malleable iron has excellent tensile strength and helps to ensure the safety of our customer’s pets. However, unlike stainless steel, brass or titanium which does not rust, malleable iron can rust over time, especially when exposed to a humid environment for a long period of time.2 years agoHelpful?

We have a 7 month old female Great Pyrenees that has snapped two of these cables in half after having them no more than a couple of months. I would only recommend if you're willing to jeep an extra on hand and change them out every couple of months max.

I have a 120lb rottie and it holds him very well. I put him out front and it is the perfect length that he doesn't bother anyone walking.he has the flexibility to movr around very nicely. And I know he isn't getting loose.
